2020 workshops

2020 Workshop Information.

The following workshops to be conducted by Wendy Nutt (http://www.quiltamour.com.au/) at Rotary Youth Hall are booked for Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March 2020, 9.00am for 9.30 – 3.30pm. Wendy is a highly regarded tutor and according to past students, apart from being inspirational, imparts more knowledge than that just related to the workshops.

Workshop 1 – Saturday:
‘Triangular Travels’ - a composition will be created with improvised triangles, using solid colours/personal choices in fabrics from your stash or leftovers from other projects (but don’t let this stop you from buying more fabric!). The triangles create quite a challenge when first cutting. For those that are looking for a greater challenge it is suggested to use just two solid colours.

Workshop 2 – Sunday:
‘The Artful Alphabet’ - students will be guided through a design process using the familiarity of one of their initials. One of these designs will be further developed into a mini quilt. The more skills a student has, the greater will be flexibility in their design choices.

Thanks to a successful application to QuiltNSW for a ‘Country Tutor Program Grant’ applied for in August, travel and accommodation expenses are subsidised so the cost of workshops has been kept to a minimum.

Enrolments will be on a ‘first come first served’ basis. A ‘Reserves List’ will be established should there be more applicants than positions available. Refunds will only be made if a person on the ‘Reserves List’ fills your position. Wendy will take 15 students in a class.

Payment of $58 per day may be made by using Direct Debit using on-line banking. WPQ’s Regional Australia Bank details are:

Wauchope Patchwork Quilters Inc     BSB: 932 000         Account No. 5035558

Please add your name and ‘w 1’ or ‘w 2’ or ‘w 1 and 2’ – the latter if you wish to attend both workshops - to the details when internet banking.

Costing has been worked out on 10 attending each workshop. Should more than 10 people attend, a proportional refund will be made to you on the day of the workshop. Tea/coffee provided, bring a small plate of morning tea to share, bring your own lunch or share in the cost of a platter of sandwiches ordered on the day.

The Management Committee hope you will find these workshops informative, challenging and a lot of fun.
