Value of 2013 Raffle Quilts
Anyone who crafts and sews will appreciate the time and
effort that goes into making a quilt - from selecting or designing a pattern,
selecting and trialling fabric combinations, not to mention the construction
and finishing of the quilt.
WPQ organises to have the NSW Quilt Guild value the quilts
we make for our Show raffle. We do this to provide not only the public but our
members with an idea of the true value of a quilt. So often of course we cannot
expect to sell one of our quilts for anything like its true value.
This year Circle of Friends ( a double bed quilt made with
traditional style blocks and colours and made by a number of members) was
valued at $2,000; and Flower Power (nine patch and squares, colour washed and
using many Kaffe Fassett fabrics) was valued at $3,300. Both quilts were
professionally quilted.
