Sew and Tell 22nd January 2019

We have all heard of a mystery quilt - this time it is a mystery quilter. Your roving reporter doesn't roam as far as Tuesday Night quilting so doesn't know who our mystery quilter is. If you are the talented maker of this cleverly colour co-ordinated quilt, please put your hand up and tell us about it. Did you make your  preparation a little easier by using the Group's Accuquilt to cut your circles?

Yet another mystery quilt maker (or maybe the same one as above!) from our Night Group who has done a nice job with this medallion quilt. Please remain a mystery no longer and tell us the story of this quilt.

Sew and tell 24th January 2019

Louise has made a stunning coffee table mat using 'remainders' from a previous project.

Don't you love the great co-ordinating fabrics Louise has chosen to use with her lovely print fabric, along with the very handy self-check blender used on the left.

Another of Carolyn's quilts - three in three weeks! Carolyn is not super woman - she has recently moved into her newly built home and has had the pleasure of releasing her possessions from 4 years of storage. If only quilt making was that easy!
!
A close-up of Carolyn's cat quilt made using a wonderful print fabric that had a great variety of images of cats from which  we could all identify our own moggies.

s
A lot of us have real-life moggies on our quilts at  times - Carolyn has the advantage of also having one but without the fur. And... don't you like the black and white check backing.

Sew and Tell January 17th 2019

Just in time for these heatwave conditions (yes even here on the coast), Ally has completed her quilt of a wonderfully cool colour selection - and it is for herself which is even better after having made quilts for the grandchildren for Christmas (see an earlier post in December 2018).

A close up of Ally's cool disappearing nine-patch variation. Ally obviously loves Kaffe Fassett fabrics - don't we all.

Elaine has certainly mastered half square triangles as is evidenced in this lovely sailing ship quilt made for a great-grandson - lucky boy

A perfect choice of backing for Elaine's sailing ship quilt, further enhanced with a most appropriate quilting design by our own member Narelle, of Mystral Quilting Services, who is a professional long-arm quilter. Well done both of you.

Ashton is the grandson of our member Sheryl and he created his very own Christmas tree. No, it is not quilted, but made from used plastic spoons which he then painted - recycling at its best!
It is easy to see Ashton has inherited his Grandmother's genes.

Sew and Tell 10th January 2019

Margaret has been busy making zippered bags - here's proof she has mastered inserting zippers!

Margaret's zippered bag - have a look at the fabulous material used for this project.
One of Margaret's lap quilts made for the Palliative Care Unit at our local hospital.

Another lap quilt made by Margaret for the Palliative Care Unit

Both of Margaret's lap quilts - what a useful pattern Stack and Whack is!

Patti doesn't let a stay at the beach without her machine stop her from creating - a lovely Christmas Wreath was the result.

Sheryl is all set for Christmas 2019 with this lovely candle mat made over our Christmas break.
